Friday the 13th a day of superstition and inspiration for movies like Freaky Friday and Friday the 13th itself. Thirteen is a very unlucky number to the superstitious, but what does Friday have to do with this? I did my research just for my readers to answer that very question. It so happens that the sixth day in the week is also said to be unlucky so when the sixth day in the week falls on the thirteenth day in the month, you better say home if you have bad luck. The sixth day of the week and the number 13 both have foreboding reputations said to date from ancient times. It seems their inevitable conjunction from one to three times a year (there will be three such occurrences in 2012, exactly 13 weeks apart) portends more misfortune than some credulous minds can bear. According to some sources it’s the most widespread superstition in the United States today.

So what does this foreboding have to do with Zombies you may ask? Well this year since this Friday the 13th is such a big deal all over the country there are zombie events being held on this day on July 13th, 2012. Since I live in San Diego I will list the ones near me. If you are anywhere else check Google for Zombie events near you.

Ok here is San Diego Zombie events for Friday July, 13th 2012:

2. Going to Comic Con this year? Then check out Tonner’s SDCC booth (#4149)  for two signing sessions to take place on Friday the 13th of July, with Rico the Zombie Boy! 
3. San Diego’s Haunted hotel is a popular place to stay for those who want a thrill on Friday the 13th. For more info on such an event check out this site:  http://www.scare-zone.com/wordpress/ and I thought it was just for Halloween. 
4. The Most terrifying of all Zombie events this year is, The Walking Dead Escape. This is no ordinary event if you chose to be a “Survivor” you must try to survive the obstacle course filled with Zombies. I myself may attend but as a spectator safely watching from afar.
